Ronney Defends His Withdrawal From World Cup Qualifiers

Wayne Rooney has defended his withdrawal from the upcoming World Cup qualifiers by posting a picture of his head injury on Facebook.

Rooney missed Manchester United's 1-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday after manager David Moyes confirmed he had suffered an injury in a collision with team-mate Phil Jones in training.

In his facebook post Rooney wrote: "Some people seem to be questioning my commitment to the England squad and the fact I had to pull out of the 2 games.

Diana the Hunter:Female Revenge Killer Attacks Bus Drivers Mexico

Mexican prosecutors said Monday they are investigating claims that a woman who killed two bus drivers last week in this northern border city was seeking revenge for alleged sexual abuse of female passengers.

The claims made in an email from the self-styled 'bus driver hunter' echoed deeply in Ciudad Juarez, which has a grim history of sexual violence against women aboard buses.

A woman wearing a blond wig - or dyed hair - boarded one of the school bus-style vehicles that serve as transport in Ciudad Juarez on Wednesday morning.

She approached the driver, took out a pistol, shot him in the head and left the bus. The next day, apparently the same woman did exactly the same thing to another driver on the same route.

Over the weekend, media outlets began receiving emails from the address 'Diana the hunter of bus drivers.'

Campaigners and doctors today called for more research into a controversial procedure that it is claimed could help victims of female genital mutilation enjoy sex for the first time.

Normally women are only offered surgery to reduce pain or life-threatening complications caused by FGM, but one London surgeon is attempting to restore sexual sensation as well. The technique is already being used in Spain, France and America, and there are calls for it to be more widely available in Britain.

62 Year old Woman Charged After Body of Her Missing Husband Was Found Buried In her Front Yard

A 62-year-old North Texas widow is behind bars charged with murder after her long-missing husband was found buried in the front yard of their rural home.

Neola Robinson is in Tarrant County Jail with bond set at $150,000, charged in the 2010 death of husband Ervin Robinson.

Texas Rangers say they arrested Robinson Saturday and exhumed her husband's remains Tuesday from the yard of their mobile home in Pelican Bay, a lakefront community on Eagle Mountain Lake about 20 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

Rangers spokesman Lonny Haschel says Rangers had been investigating since Robinson went missing in late May 2010. Texas Rangers say they recently got a tip prompting them to search the couple's property.

Online jail records listed no attorney for the widow.

Woman Cuts Off Ex Husband's Penis

A southern California woman convicted of cutting off the penis of her then-husband and throwing it into a garbage disposal was given a life sentence Friday with the possibility of parole after seven years, authorities said.

Catherine Kieu, 50, of Garden Grove, California, and her husband were going through a divorce at the time of the July 2011 incident. The couple married in December 2009, but in May 2011 the husband filed for divorce, which was granted in August 2011, according to Orange County court records.

Kieu laced her husband's dinner with the sleep medication Ambien after they had an argument over a friend possibly staying with them at a later date, the Orange County district attorney's office said in a statement Friday.

Baby Stabbed With Scissors By His Mother

An eight-month-old boy is lucky to be alive after he was stabbed 90 times by his mother, mostly in the face, for biting her while she was breastfeeding.

Xiao Bao needed more than 100 stitches after the incident in Xuzhou, eastern China's Jiangsu Province. 

The infant lives with his mother and two uncles, who make a living recycling rubbish. It was one of the uncles who discovered Xiao Bao lying in a pool of blood in the yard of their home and rushed him to hospital.
The child’s mother later confessed that she stabbed the baby after he bit her during breastfeeding.
Neighbours have pleaded with the local government to take the baby away, but they have said that they will not. Apparently, they said that there was no confirmation the mother was suffering from a mental illness and said, regardless, the baby still has two guardians in the form of his two uncles.

30 People Dead After Islamic Militants Attacked School In Northern Nigeria

                                     

Armed Islamic militants have killed 29 students and an English teacher in an attack on a boarding school in northeastern Nigeria.

Survivors being treated for burns and gunshot wounds said some students were burned alive in the attack on Saturday which has been blamed on a radical terror group.

Gunmen, believed to be from Islamist sect Boko Haram, stormed the premises of Government Secondary School in the town of Mamudo in Yobe state at around 3am, setting fire to parts of the complex.

Dozens of children from the 1,200-student school escaped into the bush and have not been seen since.

Parents rushed to the school and screamed in anguish as they tried to identify the charred and dead bodies of the victims.

Mohammed Musa, who taught English at the school, died after he was shot in the chest.

One 15-year-old, who survived the attack, told of how he awoke to find one of the attackers pointing a gun at him.

Football in my family

Actually football runs in my family. It is something we inherited from my Dad because he was a great player in his days as a youth. At the moment three of us are into football; I, my immediate younger brother, Mikel, and our last born.

Impact

The game of football has really impacted on my family.From, hitherto, a humble background, football has taken my family to such a great height that we never imagined. Today, my family is popular both in Nigeria and the world over, particularly, as a result of the fame of my younger brother, Mikel.

Transformation

Before now, ours was a family that fed from hand to mouth. We were living in two-room apartment in Jos not because my Dad could really afford the rent but because he was the care-taker of the compound. The truth is that we had nothing to offer then. But today, the story is different; thanks to football.

According to local reports, 34-year-old Brighton Dama Zanthe, the seemingly dead man woke up last week while friends and family prepared to pay their respects at his home in Gweru.

Floating School Built in Makoko Slum

A three-storey floating school will soon be used in Makoko, a poverty stricken community on the flooded coastline of Nigeria.

The new primary school in the Lagos slum is built on a foundation of 256 plastic drums.Powered by solar panels on the roof, it will be able to accommodate more than 100 students.The building features an open recreational space on the first floor and a number of classrooms on the floors above.

Makoko is home to nearly 100,000 residents, who struggle to make their living by fishing.

Nigerian architect Kunle Adeyemi, who was raised in Lagos, Africa's largest city,designed the floating building.He said that the school is part of a plan that he has envisioned for the community's future.

Residents of Makoko, which means "fishing village", have dealt with the encroaching waters by building their houses on stilts for generations.

86 year old woman Locked in car boot for two days

This 89 year old woman  in Delaware  was carjacked and then the perpetrators proceeded to lock her in the boot for two days.

This is sad and the act was committed by Five teenagers aged 14-17 years.

According to the police,the woman was approached by two girls at a grocery store who asked her for a ride.she agreed but on getting to the address which the two girls gave,they demanded for her car keys and forced her into the car boot.

Convicted killer caught trying to escape prison in a suitcase

                               

Jails in Venezuela have banned visitors from bringing in suitcases - after guards caught a contortionist trying to escape.

Convicted killer Gavinson Garcia - who is just 5ft 3ins tall - folded himself into the bag brought to Yare II prison in Caracas by his girlfriend Susana Blanco.

But the plan was foiled when guards spotted Blanco, 22, struggling to move the wheeled luggage as she walked towards the prison gates.

The story is that of a strange love, such that is uncommon. For anyone that heard of a man shooting his wife in the course of a  quarrel, the reaction would be that such an act should be punished. But it sounds strange to hear that the woman would still profess love for such a person or even plead for him at the police station, despite sustaining injuries from the shot fired by the husband for whom she was carrying a second child.

That was the drama that played out between a couple recently at Apete community, Ibadan. The husband, Wasiu Waheed (35), reportedly had a quarrel with his wife and when he saw that he could not silence his wife’s caustic tongue, he decided to use a weapon that would have silenced the woman forever, save for providence.

A young Afghan woman whose nose and ears were cut off after she fled an abusive marriage has revealed the results of the reconstructive surgery to rebuild her face.

Aesha's wounds are healing, but she lives with the scars of an ordeal few could imagine.  she told the story behind that photograph.

She said: 'Every day I was abused by my husband and his family. Mentally and physically. Then one day it became unbearable so I ran away.

'They caught me and put me in jail for five months. When I came out the judge sent me back to my husband. That night they took me to the mountains.

Late Ojukwu's Library Demolished by unknown persons

                                 

Ojukwu's widow, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu yesterday in Owerri, the Imo State capital expressed shock that a monument being erected , to immortalise the name of her husband was brought down by unknown persons. Yet-to-be identified persons had last Saturday  sneaked in to demolish the Ojukwu memorial library that had reached roofing level to rubble.

Bianca, who came on a visit with Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, former Information minister, Professor Dora Akunyili and Chairman of South-East traditional rulers, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya said it was unfortunate that some people could conspire to destroy what was set to immortalise the name of her husband.

4 year old boy kills himself with his dad's stolen gun

Marquiez Deshon was  napping on a couch while his 4-year-old son found a stolen   handgunand shot himself with  ,He has been arrested and will face charges in his son's death.

Deshon , 20, had his son Jaiden for the weekend when the boy shot himself on Sunday. The boy woke up and picked up his father’s gun, which was lying nearby, and accidentally fired it into his stomach, according to police.

Chris Brown has spoken out about his infamous attack on girlfriend Rihanna, saying that it is the 'greatest regret' of his life.He described the assault as a  'mistake' and said that Rihanna has 'forgiven' him.

'That night was the deepest regret of my life, the biggest mistake,' Chris said, having clearly come to terms with the wrong he did.

'But she loves me – what can I say? I’m forgiven… but, yes, I worked hard for it,' he added, suggesting that the couple had put the incident behind them even if other people hadn't.
